Crikey, Life! And What it Throws at You! Following my 91-year-old mother’s heart attack and having resettled her into a ‘luxury’ care home, I’ve been struck down by somethin’ real nasty (along the lines of Victorian Scarlet Fever) and spent the last week incapacitated, and completely out of it, in the Four Poster with the Whippet. Talk about timing. So Friday’s post has been shelved, and, possibly, Sunday’s too. Subscribers, I’m really sorry.
So, for today, let’s return to Polanski’s Bitter Moon (1992), a post from February of last year. Bitter Moon is a film I like very much indeed. But now, as a ‘grown-up’, more than when I first saw it as a callow and naive youth at the cinema. I hope you enjoy it.
Hope you’re feeling better soon Luke! Take care 🥰
I hope you get well soon, Luke. I saw Bitter Moon with my girlfriend back when you first recommended it, she was absolutely horrified haha. She thought it was more disturbing than Saltburn. I thought it was great!
