It's a London Double Bill on Luke Honey's WEEKEND FLICKS. First up is Norman Cohen's The London Nobody Knows (1967)— the psycho-geographer's favourite— and the first documentary (of sorts) we've recommended so far. It's based on Geoffrey Fletcher's wonderful, romantic book (beautifully written) of the same title, which comes in an attractive Penguin edition, as well as the collectable hardback (1962) and a more recent edition (published by the History Press) with an introduction by architectural historian Dan Cruickshank. Fletcher was a prolific writer and artist, with a regular slot on The Daily Telegraph and his numerous books include: London's River (1965), Down Among the Meths Men (1966), Geoffrey Fletcher's London (1969), London After Dark (1969), and The London Dickens Knew (1970).
