I am sorry about that post. I like Luke Honey and his Substack writing very much.

Yep, she most definitely can do no wrong. Which, when you consider her ‘looks’, is pretty remarkable. I can only think of a few other actors, both male and female, whom the camera loves so much, and yet their looks only ever complement their acting talent, and not serve as distraction.

Plus, of course, wise career choices, too, which historically, hasn’t always been the case with the beautiful (and the damned) who litter so many poor films.

All the same, I have mixed feelings about this particular film, though, Luke, but that’s for another time, another place. But, as ever, your review is as fine as ever.

Thanks!

Absolutely tip top choice- one of my favourites too. I'm going to watch it this afternoon. Also, the soundtrack is excellent for the film, a perfect fit.

In a way, given the virtual connections of today, this is a parallel. Aren't we all a little lost in translation at the moment? Brilliant film, with Murray giving another stellar performance along with Groundhog Day.

Right now I am watching an early Sixties comedy movie in which Jim Hutton is an American in Tokyo and he is very upset because it is not exactly like Oklahoma or Michigan. I am no mood for “Lost In Translation” right now.

And yeah, the “Bill Murray is Cool” thing is over.

“I don’t like that ‘Wired’ book because it is full of stuff about John Belushi taking drugs”

No.
